"Karen provided valuable insight as my colleague and I pursued a patent (granted the same year) to be used for a DOD application. Her professionalism and expertise in the process was nothing short of excellent."

Karen TW Sutton has diverse experience as an intellectual property lawyer specializing in patents, trademark, design and copyright law. She started her career in Taiwan and Malaysia where her clients included multinational corporations such as Nestle and Unilever as well as more regional Asian companies during her years as an IP consultant to a big law firm. In the US, her focus is on providing practical advice to businesses, startups, and entrepreneurs as a rural-based patent attorney in the Mars-Adams Township-Cranberry Township southern corridor of Butler County, although her clients are located throughout the Greater Pittsburgh region, from Washington County all the way to Erie and to the suburbs of Philadelphia, Ohio, Virginia, and beyond. She started her virtual, modern law firm 20 years ago and has always relied on technology to help her deliver great service to clients regardless of location. Her experience and dedication to serving clients in the Butler region has earned much praise from her clients, whose rural locations have traditionally been under served, overlooked, and generally ignored.
Karen was a longtime contributor to legal publisher Butterworths (now owned by LexisNexis), and provided head noting services (summaries for leading legal decisions) in Malaysia. Today, she posts her thoughts regularly on LinkedIn, and on her blog commenting on the unique aspects of patent and trademark law as well as the practical side of business as a startup or as a small business owner.
Major US clients include Ibis Tek, Marshall Stamping Company, Bergad Inc., Forever Inc., Epps Global Solutions
