Charlotte Critchfield's Chair Anti-Tip Device is now US Patent No. 18,317,432 granted May, 2024. Charlotte's grandchild ended up in the emergency room after falling off of a chair. Charlotte decided to invent a device to prevent future childhood chair-tipping accidents. Congratulations, Charlotte.
Robert Lucas's Modular Weed Barried Mat Using Upcycled Tires is now US Patent No. 17,584,230 granted February, 2024. Robert recognized that tires could be recycled into a physical barrier preventing weeds from growing and thus reducing the amount of herbicide sprayed along roadways and fencelines. Congratulations Robert!
Ralph Carratura's Soft Goggle Case with One-Handed Quick Release is now US Patent No. 17,370,893 granted December, 2022. Ralph enjoys off-road racing, but one of the issues of off-road racing is that ridder's goggles get splattered with mud, dust, and debris. Riders often carry a second pair of goggles in a drawstring bag but this second pair often becomes dirty due to the nature of off-road racing. Ralph realized a better method of storing safety goggles which allows for the easy, quick, and clean exchange of goggles. Well done Ralph!
Glenn Burd's Integrated Magazine Loading Assist Device is now US Patent No. 17,657,751 granted October, 2022. Glenn is a sharpshooter and, while in retirement, recognized a new way to quickly and conveniently load gun magazines. with a multipurpose tool that small and easy to carry. Congratulations Glenn!
John Britz's Wheelchair Propulsion Device is now US Patent No. 11,590,039 granted February 28, 2023. John saw that there was a need for a manual wheelchair assist and sought to make a simple device that can be used with any existing wheelchair and allows for narrow turning, which is significant disadvantage of big, motorized wheelchairs. John's hope is that his device will provide wheelchair users mobility option. Congratulations, John!
Aaron Mourey's Insulated Blanket Hook and Strap is now US Patent No. 11,585,369 granted February 21, 2023. Aaron is a linesman and like so many great inventions, saw a need in his own profession for better equipment to secure rubber blankets. Linemen have one of the most dangerous jobs in the world, and Aaron is doing his best to keep his fellow linemen safe. Well done Aaron!
David Sedgwick's Adjustment Tool for Gymnastics Uneven Bars Apparatus is now US Patent No. 11,559, 880 granted January 4, 2023. Dave is a seasoned gymnastics coach and his competitive spirit realized that this tool would save valuable time for his team during competition and also reduce wear and tear on the uneven bars equipment. Dave, I wish this tool existed back when I was a gymnast!
Carl Donati's Tough Truck Scale is now US Patent No. 11,473, 964 granted September 28, 2022. Carl is a teacher and like many western Pennsylvanians, has a truck that he uses to haul a variety of heavy things. Instead of guessing at the weight of the load in his truck bed, Carl realized there was a better way that would reduce trips due to underloading of the bed and prevent damage to the truck by actually weighing a load. His scale is an after market truck bed that can be easily installed into an existing truck.
Andrea Hollis' Padded Elizabethan Pet Collar is now US Patent No. D963,258 granted August 17, 2022 was inspired by her own dog Alli's blindness due to illness. The "Bone of Shame" design patent is cute and comfortable and keeps your pet safe by preventing the pet's head from being lodged between balusters or bumping into objects post surgery. Alli inspired Andrea's successful Etsy store, where you can find the Bone of Shame and other cute pet items.
Trevor W. Emerick's Self Adjusting Deep Well Socket is now US Patent No.
11,389,935 granted July 19, 2022. While I am proud of all my inventors, I have a special place in my heart for Trevor, who is a bright, ambitious young man with a work ethic, optimistic spirit and creative streak without peer. He is on the cusp of revolutionizing the socket industry with his tool, which allows the removal and replacement of damaged screw type fasteners such as bolts. Corrosion damaged bolt and nut heads are no longer an issue with Trevor's tool.
Joseph Schuster's Integrated Recoil Reduction Apparatus is now US Patent No. 11,340,040 granted May 24, 2022. Joe is a competitive sharp shooter and his invention makes firing your rifle more comfortable by reducing the recoil against your shoulder. Well done Joe!
Donald E. Day's Stand Mixer Funnel Accessory is now US Patent No. 11,161,082. Donald's ingenious funnel fits onto a standard KitchenAid mixer and is superior to KichenAid's own flour funnel. All the flour ends up the mixing bowl and not on the cook!
Deborah Anspach is one of just 11% of female patentees. Deb is especially unique because she is an entrepreneur at an age when many settle into retirement and greener pastures.
